Premium Framing by John Richter

FRAMING AND GLASS OPTIONS

At Richter Photography, we place the highest value on our limited edition fine art prints. For that reason we believe in using only the finest materials available for framing our work. From the backing your photograph is mounted onto, to the type of glass we place over your print, we seek superior protection and enhanced viewing. The subject matter of John Richter’s photography is both timeless and ephemeral. Complemented with the right framing, John’s work can fit into modern/ contemporary, classic, or rustic/ traditional designs effortlessly. To help you better understand all of these options we have broken it down in the following way:

STANDARD FRAMING-
Our Standard Framing is offered for all print sizes. This basic framing utilizes most of the fine materials used in our Custom Framing with the exception of the mouldings. We offer two basic Nielson metal moulding profiles (#117 and # 71) in matte black for this line of framing.

CUSTOM FRAMING-
Our Custom Framing is offered on all print sizes. We provide a variety of real wood profiles to perfectly compliment each image. All of our Custom Framed prints are mounted using our standard line of mounting mediums and glazed with our standard TruVue Conservation Clear glass or UV acrylic. Anti Reflective Museum glass and Non-glare acrylic upgrades are available at an extra charge.

PREMIUM FRAMING-
Our Premium Framing utilizes the absolute finest materials and techniques available in the photography and framing industries today! The print is made on Fujiflex Supergloss instead of our standard Fuji Crystal Archive paper. This fine paper is then mounted directly to Museum glass to achieve an unparalleled viewing experience. Each image is then fitted with a premium wood frame; silk or suede liner; a matching wood fillet; and a matching silk or suede backing. Larger oversized prints exceeding 50 inches are mounted to Di-Bond and protected with a UV laminate. These prints are then fitted with an oversized moulding ( 3 inches or wider); a silk or suede liner; and a matching fillet.

MOUNTING-
Each photograph is mounted to a surface using archival adhesives and a cold press mount.
1. 3/16” Acid Free Foam Core -Our standard mounting medium is 3/16” Acid Free Foam Core, used for all Standard and Custom framing where the print is covered by glass or acrylic.
2. 1/2 “ Gator Board-For Standard and Custom framed laminated prints we use 1/2” Gator Board for extra stiffness and durability.
3. Premium Mounts-Exclusively for our Premium Framing, we offer elmulsion mounts. This technique mounts a premium Fujiflex Supergloss print directly to TruVue Museum glass effectively sealing the print from deteriorating elements in the environment. For oversized Premium prints larger than fifty inches, we mount to Di-Bond and seal the print with a UV laminate. Di-Bond is an ultra smooth medium that allows for a premium finish on oversized work.

GLAZING-
Each photograph is protected with a glazing to protect it from dust, moisture, and other environmental hazards. This includes glass, acrylic, and laminates.
1. Glass-To assure your archival photograph lasts for many generations, we have selected TruVue Conservation Clear glass as our standard glazing. This glass offers all of the crystal clear viewing properties that have made TruVue the leader in the framing world with the addition of UV protection. TruVue Museum glass is offered as an upgrade and comes standard on our Premium Frames. Museum glass offers the same exceptional UV protection as Conservation Clear with the addition of an exceptional non-glare coating. Both Conservation Clear and Museum glass block 98% of UV rays, and Museum glass effectively eliminates over 90% of reflected glare.
2. Acrylic- Oversized images require the use of acrylic when a laminate is not preferred. We offer UV and UV non-glare acrylics to glaze your photograph.
3. Laminates- Laminates are an ultra thin 3.5 mil archival film that is applied directly to the photograph. The lamination is offered in a low luster finish and offers UV protection. Laminates can be easily cleaned to ensure the beauty of your photograph is maintained.

MAT BOARD AND FRAMING ACCENTS-
Depending on your preference, we offer a wide variety of quality framing accents and acid-free mat boards.
1. Acid-Free Mat Board-We offer Crescent Acid-Free mat boards for our Standard and Custom Frames in three colors. White(#1610), Off-White(#1606), and White Script(#1664) for selected Black and White photographs.
2. Framing Accents (Liners, Backing and Fillets)- To complement our Premium frames and large oversized photographs, we have selected several framing accents. We offer liners finished with silk or suede. To finish we often place a matching fillet inside the liner. With our Premium glass-mounted images, we place a matching silk or suede backing behind the glass.
